The playbook
- Go deep on DSA. Beyond the service-company patterns, practise medium-difficulty problems until they feel routine.
- Build one real project you can explain end to end — design decisions, trade-offs, what broke.
- Master core CS — OS, DBMS, and networks are interview staples.
- Apply widely and off-campus. Referrals and careers pages, not just campus drives.
The mindset
Rejections are data, not verdicts. Log what each assessment tested, close that gap, and try again. The students who break through are rarely the most talented — they are the most consistent. Track your readiness, keep closing gaps, and the tier stops being the story.
